5.1 Create a Project
The "Create a Project" feature in Onethread allows users to set up a new project within the platform. With this feature, users can define the details of the project, such as its name and start and end dates, assign tasks, and invite team members or vendors to collaborate on the project.
- Users must have an account in Onethread.
- Users must be a part of a company.
- Users must be Super Admins/Admins to create a project.
You can create projects from 3 places.
- From the navigation bar, Create + in the top right corner.
- From the Project section.
- From the onboarding process
There are two steps to creating a project in Onethread.
- Go to the project section from the left bar.
- In the Project Dashboard, you will find two options to create a project. One is at the middle of the page & another is at the top right.
- You can also create a project from Create + button. Here, inside, you will find the Project button.
- Click any of them. A box will pop up.
- Write down the project name in the Name box. It’s mandatory.
- Select the estimated due date for the project.
- Enter Project Status.
- Enter the budget for the project. You can choose any currency.
- Press the Next button.

This is where you add the status of your project. There are two options to choose from:
- Default status
- Customize status
The default status has three predefined statuses
- Pending,
- In progress, and
- Done.
- Click the use default status button.
- Your Project will be created and will show in the Project list.

You can create your own very statuses for your project from here.
- Click the Customize statuses button. It will ask you to add a new status.
- Click the +Add new status button.
- A box will appear where you have to enter a new status name.
- Write down the status name you want for your project.
- Hit the Create button.
- Your project is ready.

Project create using Customize Status
- Only users with sufficient permissions, such as Admins or Super Admins, can create projects.
- You can find a project under the Active project tab.
- You can rename or delete a status while creating from the Customize status option.
- Project Initiation: This feature provides a platform to initiate a project
- Streamlined Workflow: Creating a project in Onethread enables users to establish a streamlined workflow, which helps to manage tasks, resources, and budgets more effectively.
- Better Collaboration: When a project is created, project teammates, stakeholders, and vendors can work together from a central location, improving collaboration and communication.
- Increased Visibility: By creating a project in Onethread, users can have real-time visibility into project progress, including task completion, budget, and resource allocation.
- Project Information: There are no options to add information related to project details such as project description, project objectives, goals, expectations timeline, or budget allocation in the system.
- Inter-project dependencies: You can't add tasks of other projects to a certain project as a dependency.
